FLAMINGO LAKE RESORT RATES | FLAMINGO LAKE RESORT RESERVATION

...feel the Spirit of the Taal Volcano...

For those who want to avoid Tagaytay's touristy scene and be on the lakefront, you will be delighted with the Flamingo Lake Resort, a small luxury guest house with four bedrooms. The Flamingo is next door to the yacht club in Talisay, a charming village located on Lake Taal's north shore, approx.70 kilometers or 1-½ hours drive south of Manila.
Upon arrival you will be warmly greeted by Karl, a German architect and an ultralight plane enthusiast, and his wife Lorna, a Filipina with a twinkle in her eye and a flair for the culinary arts.  Drop your bags (Karl will make sure they make it to your rooms) and order an ice-cold San Miguel beer from the bar; you are officially on holiday.

In other words, The Flamingo Resort is an excellent place to stay in the Lake Taal area.  The facilities are extremely comfortable and clean and the service is personal and pleasant.

Resort & Restaurant

The guest house itself, which opened for business in early 2005, is an oasis for relaxation.  The ground floor is an open air dining room and bar, which looks out on the lake and its volcanic islands.  The earth tones of terra cotta floor tiles and beautifully finished wooden tables and rattan chairs are accented by vibrant yellows and red.

The Flamingo offers a concise selection of European and Asian cuisine.  Lorna's tomato and pumpkin soups and salads are delicious and fresh, and the main course offers fish, beef and chicken dishes.  If you're in the mood for something German, there's an excellent pork schnitzel or German sausages.  If you'd rather taste something local, order a chicken and pineapple curry.
The rooms are located on the second floor.  You are guaranteed to get a good night's sleep in these immaculately clean yet cozy air-conditioned suites.  For your comfort you will find hot water shower as well as cable TV. The owners' attention to detail and aesthetics is apparent in the building's construction.  The comfortable chairs on the balcony are the perfect vantage point from which to watch a hobie cat sailing race, sponsored by the neighboring yacht club. The view from there –overlooking the lake and Taal Volcano- is just spectacular.

Activities

The Flamingo offers more than just the opportunity to unwind.  If you're keen to climb the volcano in the middle of Lake Taal, Karl will arrange for you to do it at the ideal time of day -- 5:30am.  Your 4:30am wake-up call will be rewarded by a cup of freshly brewed coffee and your own personal banka waiting for you where the Flamingo's green sloping lawn meets the water.

Hop aboard and the knowledgeable father-son team that owns the banka will gladly show you the wonders that Lake Taal has to offer.  Watch the sun rise as you motor across the lake and arrive at the small fishing village that also serves as the starting point for your hike.  The walk to the top takes less than an hour at an easy pace, but hire a horse if you want to take the leisurely option.  At this time on the day there is not a tourist to be found on the hike or at the top of the volcano, which offers a breathtaking view of the crater lake and the surrounding Lake Taal.  You will feel like you earned the hearty breakfast that Lorna and Karl will cook for you upon your return.

...relax as active
as you like...

Other activities include water-skiing if the lake is calm, or sailing or windsurfing if there's a stiff breeze, as well as kayaking for those, who want to explore the lake in the most individual way.  Strolling through the village is also entertaining and a good way to work up an appetite for dinner.
